01 For Apartments & MDUs

Internet for Apartment Buildings

Each unit is a subscriber with its own speed, invoice and portal. Common areas get guest WiFi. When a building switch fails, every resident in that building hears about it.

  • Per-unit service on PPPoE or DHCP with speed plans
  • Resident portal with card autopay, tickets and plan changes
  • Guest WiFi for lobbies, pools and leasing offices

Running internet for buildings

An apartment building is a small ISP of its own: dozens of units behind one uplink, residents moving in and out, and a property manager in the middle. ISPbox runs it the same way it runs any ISP, with a location per building, service per unit, and guest WiFi for the shared spaces.

Units, plans and billing

Each building is a location and each unit a client with a service on PPPoE or DHCP through RADIUS or the MikroTik API. Billing is monthly with invoices, autopay, reminders and automatic suspension, or prepaid for buildings with short leases. Plan changes can be scheduled for a date, for example the first of next month.

Residents and property managers

Residents use a customer portal on your own domain to pay, manage cards, change plans and open tickets, in their own language. A property manager can be an agent limited to their building, adding new residents and renewing service from a phone.

Common areas and outages

Lobbies, pools, gyms and leasing offices can run the hotspot module with free or paid plans. When something fails, an incident scoped to the building notifies the affected residents by email or SMS and appears on your public status page.

02 Why this feature matters

Built for high-speed ISP operations

Each Unit Is an Account

Every unit gets its own plan, speed, invoices and login, so a move-out is one account to close.

Billing That Runs Itself

Monthly invoices, card autopay, reminders and automatic suspension, or prepaid service that stops on its own.

Outages by Building

Open an incident for one building and every affected resident gets an email or SMS, then another when it is fixed.

Property Managers Can Help

A building manager can be an agent who signs up new residents and renews service for their building only.

03 Use cases

Where ISP teams put this to work

  • Bill each unit monthly with autopay and suspend automatically when unpaid.
  • Give new tenants a free trial week that ends by itself.
  • Offer free lobby WiFi and paid guest passes for visitors.
  • Notify one building about a switch replacement without messaging the others.

04 FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I bill some buildings monthly and others prepaid?
Yes. Billing mode is set per service, with a workspace default, so each building can use what suits its leases.
Can the property manager see all residents?
If you make them an agent with "Everyone at this location" scope, they see and serve every resident of their building, and nothing outside it.
Does guest WiFi count toward my subscriber bill?
No. Hotspot guests and vouchers are kept apart from clients and are not counted as subscribers.
